Vintage Mattel 1975 Gerry Andersons Space 1999 Moon Base Alpha Control Room & Launch Centre Playset - Fantastic Condition. In 1975 Mattel released there Space 1999 Action Figures and Play Set consisting of Commander John Koenig, Professor Victor Bergman, Doctor Helena Russell and the Moon Base Alpha Control Room, to tie in with the smash Hit television program. Although the range was fairly successful, the run did not last very long, due to the program being axed buy ITV, which in turn has made the figures and play set highly sort after and very valuable. This is the Moon base Alpha Control Room and Launch Centre which includes Vinyl Play Mat, Vinyl Covered Walls, Printed Control Panels, Space Chairs and Tables, plus the instruction booklet. The computer lights up when switched on, and is battery operated and fully tested as working. Comes in the original box which is in very good condition, which is amazing when considering it is now over 51 years old, but it does have some wear, which is mainly along the edges. The Play Set was only ever used as part of a display, and has never been played with, hence the reason why it is in such lovely condition. This really is a must for the serious Space 1999 Collector.
