ITEM DESCRIPTION

Up for sale is a wonderful piece of British toy history: an original vintage "British Mirror Scope" (Kaleidoscope) produced by Style Toys Ltd. of London. This iconic triangular optical toy features the original registered design number 838617, a design series originally patented in 1941. An identical model of this exact scope is held in the prestigious Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum collection in London.
The scope features a textured dark faux-leather paper exterior wrapping and retains its highly sought-after original gold triangular manufacturer label on the end piece.
Condition Details:
  • Exterior: In good vintage condition for its age. Shows some light, authentic shelf wear, rubbing to the paper edges, and minor corner scuffing consistent with a genuine mid-century toy (please review all photos carefully).
  • Label: The gold end label is completely intact, crisp, and fully legible.
  • Optics/Interior: The internal mirrors are functional, creating beautiful geometric patterns when rotated and shaken. The interior colour flakes move freely.
