ITEM DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare, highly collectible piece of British football gaming history: a 1930s edition of CAR-SOC (The New Game of Card Soccer). Manufactured in London by BCM / W.H. Storey, this vintage sports simulation game is incredibly ahead of its time, incorporating authentic football strategies, passes, and moves using a combination of board positioning and card play.
What makes this specific set exceptional is that it has been carefully inventoried and is 100% COMPLETE. Finding this game with zero missing pieces, pristine wooden tokens, and all original cards is extremely rare.
INVENTORY BREAKDOWN (Verified & Complete):
  • 1 x Folding Playing Board: In excellent vintage condition, featuring the iconic star-grid football pitch layout, penalty boxes, and goal zones.
  • 22 x Wooden Player Tokens: Full team lineups consisting of exactly 11 Blue pieces and 11 Magenta/Red pieces.
  • 1 x Wooden Ball/Neutral Markers: Original turned-wood miniature marker.
  • 56 x Game Cards: Both original decks are complete with exactly 28 Blue cards and 28 Red cards (each includes the full 1-9 play sequences).
  • 2 x Green Console Card Holders: Built-in horizontal slots to organize your hands during active play.
  • 1 x Original Instruction Booklet: The complete "Rules and Hints for Playing" pamphlet detailing game mechanics and rules.
  • 1 x Original Green Storage Box: Includes the bright yellow illustrated Car-Soc lid label.
CONDITION
This game is in excellent vintage condition given its nearly 90-year age. The wooden pieces retain their vibrant painted colors with minimal wear. The cards are clean, crisp, and fully legible with no heavy creasing or tears. The board folds cleanly and lays flat. The box shows some light, expected age-related shelf wear and patina, adding to its authentic vintage charm. Please review all high-resolution photos to see the exact condition of the contents.
An absolute must-have for vintage board game collectors, sports simulation enthusiasts, or football history buffs!
