ITEM DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a wonderful piece of vintage British gaming history: The Teaser Puzzle (No. 74), manufactured in England by E. & S. circa the 1930s.
This classic sliding-block mechanical brain teaser challenges the player to slide the large square wooden block from corner A to corner C without lifting, rotating, or jumping any pieces. Famously advertised on the box with the slogans "Few Solve It. It Can Be Done" and "Match Your Wits!!!"
The puzzle features a beautiful textured cardboard box and nine original sliding blocks with an attractive faux-wood grain finish.
Condition Details:
  • Completeness: 100% complete. Includes all 9 original game blocks.
  • Box: In good vintage condition with fantastic typography and graphics. Shows some expected light shelf wear, minor corner scuffs, and aging consistent with a 90-year-old cardboard item (please review photos for exact condition).
  • Interior: Clean and structurally sound. The original inner text panels ("WARNING" / "IT CAN BE DONE") are bright and legible.
  • Blocks: The faux-wood finish on the blocks remains crisp with very minimal wear. They slide smoothly within the tray.
