Released by Target books paperbacks in 1974, this is the 1974 original release, that is based on the television serial Doctor Who Spearhead From Space starring Jon Pertwee as Dr Who. In this first adventure of his third incarnation, the Dr, Liz Shaw and the Brigadier grapple with the nightmarish invasion of the Autons - living, giant sized, plastic modelled humans with no hair and sightless eyes; waxwork replicas and tailors dummies whose murderous behaviour is directed by the Nestene Consciousness - a malignant, squid like monster of cosmic proportions and indescribably hideous appearance. The book is in very good condition over all, which is amazing considering it is now over 50 years old, the front and back covers are nice, clean and bright with only very minor signs of any wear along the edges. The spline is also in fantastic condition with only the smallest signs of any wear on the tips of the bottom edges. Internally the book is in fantastic condition, all 160 pages are present and attached, they are clean and bright without any damage or markings or writing on any page, just some slight browning of the page edges due to age and the type of paper that was used back in the day.
