September 14th 1999 - The moon is blasted out of orbit by a nuclear explosion and hurled into deep space taking the inhabitants of Moonbase Alpha with it on a Fantastic perilous Journey! This Special Limited Edition of the MK IX Hawk features the model as it was originally painted and delivered to the studio for filming in 1975. However shortly before filming of the effects sequences began, it was decided that the model too closely resembled the Eagle Transporter and that might cause confusion for the audience. To create a visual distinction between the two spacecraft, the Hawk filming miniature was quickly re-painted at the studio in the now famous orange livery seen in the final episode. This special edition brings to life the original version of the Hawk warship as not seen in the 17th story from season one of the classic TV show.
